Product Description

Wheyology: Leucine Enhanced Whey Protein!

Wheyology have been specifically engineered to optimize your Post Workout (PWO) nutrition protocol by triggering the maximum anabolic response possible from a whey protein supplement. In fact, gram for gram & scoop for scoop,ISO-ology has up to 100% more Leucine compared to any other protein available.

Product Highlights:

  • 100% Enhanced Whey Protein!
  • Up to 5g Leucine Anabolic Trigger (2x More Than Regular Whey)!
  • No Fillers/Maltodextrin and Without Added Sugar or Sodium!
  • Labeling Integrity, i.e. no label dressing!

Four Delicious Flavors Including:

  • Milk Chocolate
  • Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cup
  • Jamocha Shake
  • Vanilla

Leucine Anabolic Trigger Optimizes PWO Muscle Synthesis:

  • Suggested PWO Leucine Intake for Greatest Muscle Growth is 4-5g
  • Regular Whey Contains Only ~2.5g
  • Wheyology Can Induce a 2x Greater Anabolic Response Than Regular Whey
  • Wheyology is Enhanced to Contain 5g Leucine per scoop (30g Protein Total)

Leucine is generally considered the most anabolic amino acid because of its important roles in: 1) Stimulating muscle protein synthesis via initiating the mTOR cascade, 2) Acting as a nitrogen donor to help create positive net nitrogen balance, and 3) Producing an insulinogenic response that promotes amino acid absorption.*

Serious athletes and bodybuilders know that there’s a 40-55 minute “window of opportunity” following a tough workout in which they must consume the proper nutrition to optimize recovery and to build new muscle. Leading research suggests that during this time frame it is best to consume a complete protein that contains about 4g or more of Leucine (based upon a 200lb[90kg] individual, or about 1g Leucine per 50lbs[22kg] bodyweight).1

Most whey protein unfortunately contains less than 2.5g Leucine per scoop. TruNutrition Sciences, on the other hand, has enhanced its Wheyology formula with double the Leucine to provide a total of 5g Leucine per scoop. Astonishingly, research indicates that this increased dosage of Leucine may amplify new muscle protein synthesis by two-fold or even more via initiating and sustaining the mTOR cascade to signal the processes of protein synthesis.2,3

Leucine Visibility Test:

The shiny white specks are Leucine. Note how they are highly visible. With Leucine, if you can't see it, there's probably not enough in there to make difference! It's important to note that Wheyology contain 4/5g Leucine per scoop. Other brands may claim to have this amount PER SERVING, but the serving will be 2-3 scoops. This means you only receive 20-30 servings per 5lb tub. By contrast, a 5lb tub of ISO-ology contains 67 servings.

Label Dressing - Definition:

To "dress up" a product's label with claims/statements that make the product appear healthier or better than it really is. Often used on protein labels when "Added BCAAs" are claimed.

  • If you can't see the Leucine, there's not enough in your protein to make a significant difference
  • In Wheyology, you can see the extra Leucine but you can't taste it.
  • Unless the source is specified, you're consuming the much cheaper Leucine synthesized from bird feathers and other animal byproducts
  • Our Leucine is made from vegetable-sources.

Many companies tout the inclusion of additional BCAAs in their proteins, yet they intentionally obscure the minimal dosages in a concealing “proprietary blend.” There is, however, a simple test to check if you are receiving an efficacious amount of additional amino acids: Can you visually see the added Leucine & BCAAs? Free-form amino acids appear as shiny specks that are highly visible, especially in all darker-colored and chocolate-flavored proteins. Simply put, if you cannot see the additional amino acids, they are not in present in quantities enough to have a significant mass-building effect.

Please note that TruNutrition Sciences has chosen to enhance its ISO-ology with free-form Leucine but without additional Isoleucine and Valine. We based this decision on the fact that the naturally-occurring levels of these other two BCAAs whey are already present in whey at ample quantities for the desired anabolic response. Furthermore, this decision allows us to fully saturate Wheyology with the greatest amount of Leucine possible while still retaining the same great taste.

TruNutrition Sciences also only use premium vegetable-derived L-Leucine as opposed to the more common and inferior grades produced from animal feathers and other animal byproducts.

Wheyology VS. ISO-ology:

What are the differences between Wheyology and ISO-ology?

They are both pure protein products enhanced with Leucine and Protease Enzymes. ISO-ology, however, is 100% Nanofiltered Whey Isolate (90% pure protein), while the more economical Wheyology is primarily Microfiltered Whey Protein Concentrate (80% pure protein) with less Isolate. Since Isolates are largely lactose-free and extremely low in carbohydrates and fats, they are preferred by athletes and consumers who are following a carb-restricted diet, and by those who have lactose intolerance. The Supplement Facts panels are available on the next tab.

What are the similarities between ISOology and Wheyology?

They are both pure protein products without added fillers, dextrose or maltodextrin. They also contain no additional sodium, and they both contain 100mg Protease enzymes to assist in digestibility and amino acid absorption.

Why does ISO-ology contain 5g of Leucine while Wheyology contains only 4g of Leucine?

To understand why there is a difference in the Leucine, it’s necessary to recognize that the total Leucine content is the sum of two different sources of Leucine. First, there is the naturally occurring Leucine already present in whey, and second, there is the supplemental vegetable-derived Leucine added. Each source provides roughly ½ the total Leucine content, and there is more naturally-occurring Leucine in Whey Isolate than Whey Concentrate.

If you’ve ever had unflavored BCAAs or straight Leucine before, you know that they are both pretty evil tasting. While creating Wheyology & ISO-ology, we added as much Leucine as possible until our testers began to detect the Leucine aftertaste. We then enhanced our flavoring systems until that aftertaste was completely masked. Finally, we repeated this process 3 more times adding more Leucine and then adjusting the flavoring system. We found that at 4g and 5g, respectively, Wheyology and ISO-ology became fully saturated with as much Leucine as possible without affecting the taste.

Why do Wheyology and ISO-ology only contain additional Leucine and not a full-spectrum BCAA complex?

Whey has sufficient naturally-occurring levels of Isoleucine and Valine for optimal muscle synthesis. What whey does not have, however, is sufficient levels of Leucine for optimal PWO muscle synthesis.
