Alright so I had a question to ask you guys. I started going back to the gym about a week or so ago. I stopped working out around late august when I left for school but now I figured I might as well go back to the gym. So anyway my weight fluctuates between 145-147 pounds usually. I've heard that in order to get the most gains I need to take creatine before I work out then a protein shake after I work out. Could you guys give me a few tips such as how much creatine/protein I should take and when exactly I should take them?

Protein shake- not needed at all assuming you get enough protein from whole foods, if you want one though that is fine too. Again, take it whenever, it makes no difference, you don't have to have it after working out.

Man , in all honesty , it doesn't matter WHEN you take your creatine It can be first thing when waking up , or last thing before going to bed , it doesn't really matter.
There are 2 things you need to know about this.

1- Creatine is more easily absorbed by your body if you take it with some simple carbs (don't overdo it tho)
2- Some supp companies label creatine as pre or post workout because of the other ingredients the supplement has in it (Like muscletech cell-tech and dymatize power-tech , they both have 80g of sugars in them ) The only 2 times when you can take simple carbs without worrying too much is first thing in the morning and immediately after the workout , your body will always use them for energy instead of storing fat etc

So as long as you keep an eye out on the other ingredients , you should be fine
