I am looking to get a belt and did not know where to ask so I decided to stop lurking and post. The belt I am looking to get is the Inzer forever belt 10mm. I've heard of the long shipping but I can wait for a month, losing fat so don't know what size to get. I am 229-231 pounds as of now, and still dropping. Started from 241 and plan on going to 200, and eventually 180. 180 wouldn't be until after November. At rest with a shirt on, my waise from the navel is 45 inches. I tried putting on a regular belt over it and tightening it to sort of simulate a lifting belt and was able to get to 37inches comfortably.

Should I go with the large? 34-38 or with the x-large which is 39-42?

Or should I wait until I get to 200 to buy a belt? Thanks

personally, i'd wait, but i don't know what your strength goals are or your lifting experience. unless you need the belt, i say lift raw. i like to hold off on any sort of support until i really need it; otherwise, you're handicapping yourself when you still have plenty of room to grow without it.

Where are you at this point ? Have you trained alot, or are you just a beginner ? Are you lifting Heavy or not ? More info would get you more answers, as your question is vague.

If you are fairly new to the game, and your weight is low, I would not buy a belt yet. You are better of developing your core at the moment and wait until you start doing max lifts to invest in a belt. Good luck.

Yeah, I consider myself new still. Only thing I am remotely proud of is my deadlift. Here are some stats:

Squat: 205 for 3 sets of 8
Bench: 180 for 3 sets of 5
Deadlift:275 for 3 sets of 2

I stared last year around January but didn't start seriously until May where I learned more. Doing a bodybuilding/powerlifting sort of split. Only thing I'd like to use it on is for my deadlifts, probably just anxious to hit a triple plate. Will probably hold off on the belt

you doing layne norton's PHAT routine? you're off to a good start, bud, but definitely hold off on the belt till you've got more raw training behind you. plenty of room to grow and the belts will be there when you're ready.
