This is pretty common, specially between beginners and intermediates. Your best bet is to make sure your form is good and give both side equivalent amount of good reps, sets and exercises, and let your genetics do it's thing.

i deadlift weekly without fail. currently im doing 4 sets of 5 of 365 lbs. And i used mixed grip RAW, no belt no straps.

And i ALWAYS have left over and right under. And my traps are the same size…

so… make sure your hands are equally distanced apart. Sometimes i misplace my hands as well and i can feel the starting point start off heavier in 1 side.

I don't do much else for traps. I used to DB shrug, but it felt very very pointless. I also tried rack pulls with about 405 or 315 depending on how dead i was. Rack pulls feel good, but to me its just such a small ROM and just alot of moving. Not really getting a nice contraction or workout.

BB rack shrugs are nice, but it just starts to get loaded with so much weight my ROM becomes like 1 inch…

I just stick to deadlifting… im pretty sure if i can get to 6-7 plates each side after like 4 years my traps will follow…
